Our third and last day in Sendai. We had tried the night before to see if we could get a room for one more night, but unfortunately the hotel was completely booked. So we said a tearful goodbye to our beloved bathtub and started on our trip to Aoba Castle.

I have to say that Sendai was hands down the very best part of the trip. We were lucky enough to be able to visit during one of the biggest festivals of the year, Tanabata. About two million visitors show up in Sendai from August 6-8 each year to celebrate. The whole city is decorated with streamers, lanterns and festive decorations. We got a ( Read more... )
